Last week I had an appointment with the architect who is the wife of a friend of mine. She was really kind, although I’ve never met her before, she was very open-minded and friendly. When I saw her for the first time, I was sure, that she has got an excelent taste. She was wearing a really beautiful outfit, an expensive costume from Prada with beautiful black Gucci shoes. I felt a little bit weary in my jeans and in my top :/ We’ve chatted for about an hour, she really wanted to get to know me, that’s very important when she wants to design our new home. After our date at a café, she wanted to visit the flat. I was a little bit scared, because our flat looks like a catastrophe landscape, but she told me that she only wants to see the walls and the lights to think about the concept. She gave me some design magazines, and a brochure as a reference of her previous works. After I looked at the pics of her jobs, I had the feeling, that she isn’t the right one for us, because I saw only beautiful, trendy and very expensive interiors in that brochure. I told her that we couldn’t afford a huge amount of money on the design, we don’t need expensive design furniture. Although she likes it, when the design doesn’t depend on the budget, we talked about the money. I don’t want to spend more than 10.000 € for the whole thing, with all the furniture and design included. After that, we wanted to find out the basic concept. I had to decide, which style I would prefer. But there are so many of them! All of the interiors she has shown me, were really beautiful. I fell in love with all of them. But on the last page, I’ve found the perfect one for me. I already now, that I’m addicted to minimalism. I saw a beautiful interior with bright white walls, and simple but beautiful furniture. The sofas had got bright colors, and they looked really nice with the white walls. The tables and chairs were very simple, I really like this kind of pure design. Nothing to blingy, everything simple and beautiful. All the forms follow the function of the designed object. I’ve read a nice quote from a great architect of the 20th century, Mies van der Rohe: „Less is more.” After that, we’ve made an agreement, that she will put something together for the next week, what we could discuss than. She will make some plans and visualisations of the designs, and I’m going to choose the one which I fall in love with. I’m so excited! I just can’t wait to see them. And what if I can’t make a decision? What if I would like them all? I promise I’ll post the designs and maybe you could vote for the best ones, if you like to! Please help me, I think I’m getting in trouble, my husband won’t help me because he isn’t interested in interior design, he told me that he thinks that it’s for the ladies.  I presume that he thinks that it’s all about curtains and carpets and textiles. But I hope he will like the design which is gonna made by the architect and me
